There many big website where Adsense search engine performs really well. These ads are the most effective ads on the website. If your website is having a huge amount of traffic. Then you can make AdSense ads on your web search this would help in getting a huge amount of click on the website.

How many ads can you put on the page?

As mentioned above the limit of AdSense unit cannot exceed until you be the premier publisher of the google. There is no limit on the upper ads on the page.
